The first day is Spring is really March 20th, but the Spring Festival is traditionally timed to coincide with the breakup of the ice on the river.
East Coulee Spring Festival
Since 1994 the residents of East Coulee celebrate the coming of spring with a day of music and fun for the whole family.
We are very pleased with the success of the 2008 version of the East Coulee Spring Festival which was held April 12.

What is the East Coulee Spring Festival about ?
The festival is a benefit for the East Coulee School Musuem in partnership with the East Coulee Community Association.
Over the years the festival has provided a very important source of financial support for the East Coulee School Museum.
The festival has built a enviable reputation among musicians and fans.
The 'good will' associated with the festival has been developed over a fifteen year period through the hard work of many
different residents of East Coulee working as part of the organizing committees. A legion of volunteers has appeared
each year to fill the roles that make the festival run smoothly and bring so much enjoyment to the musicians and fans.
A variety of sponsors from East Coulee, the nearby localities, Drumheller and further a field have contributed to helping the
festival generate the funds that have been so important to the East Coulee School Museum. The Atlas Coal Mine has
also benefited from the proceeds of the festival in past years.
The people of East Coulee are proud of the community heritage of the town and pride themselves on having kept this
alive for the enjoyment of many visitors and school children. One of the most popular aspects of the School Museum
is a class run by 'Miss Morrison', just as she would have conducted it is the 1930's, in an actual classroom that has
been carefully preserved as it was when the shcool was open.
